Fabric is what separates a prayer jilbab you’ll wear happily every day from one that ends up at the back of the closet. Here’s what actually matters.
Full Opacity
A prayer jilbab has to be fully opaque, especially in lighter colours, so it doesn’t show your silhouette or undergarments during ruku and sujood. Thin, see-through fabric defeats the purpose of the garment.
Breathability
Since Salah is performed multiple times a day, often back to back during Taraweeh, breathable fabric prevents overheating and keeps you comfortable through long prayers, whatever the season.
Drape and Movement
Soft fabric that drapes rather than stiff or clingy material allows for a full, unrestricted range of motion, and it looks neater whether you’re standing, bowing, or in sujood.
All of our prayer jilbabs are made from soft, breathable, non-see-through fabric designed for exactly this — see the full range here.
